-- Vietnam intends to enhance relations with its traditional friends in the world, including Mexico, affirmed Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnamese National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan at a working session with Francisco Augustin Arroyo Vieyra, Vice President of the Mexican Senate and Emilio Chuayfet Chemor, President of the Chamber of Deputies, during her visit to the country on December 1-2.
-- National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung left Hanoi last Sunday for an official visit to Belgium , the European Parliament and the UK. The visit is made at the invitation of President of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives André Flahaut, President of the European Parliament Jerrzy Buzek and Lord Speaker of the UK Parliament Baroness D’Souza.

-- The 38th Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) with 329 delegates aboard anchored at Saigon Port Sunday afternoon to pay courtesy call and engage in cultural exchanges and social activities with local youths.The delegation will also visit the headquarters of Tuoi Tre Newspaper today.
-- Vu Van Thoan (47) living in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Binh district said his house was broken in last Saturday morning and an Airblade and four Wave scooters were stolen. These 5 bikes are among 37 ones in his house, which he runs as a parking lot.
-- Police in the central province of Quang Ngai said they have been tracing a car that smuggled precious logs for three hours last Sunday on National Road 1A. Le Phuoc Sang (36) and Le Minh Trang (26) hailing from Phu My district, Binh Dinh province were finally seized and taken to provincial police for investigation.

-- Vietnam Airlines aims to coordinate with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and localities with sea tourism potential, such as Ha Long, Danang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Mui Ne and Con Dao, to offer attractive tourism products to visitors from European countries like the UK, France, Germany and Spain.
-- The World Bank will continue giving priority to Vietnam ’s socio-economic development targets, said the bank’s Managing Director Sri Mulyani Indrawati at a press conference in Hanoi on Dec. 3. The WB will help Vietnam to implement policies, narrow gap and support the Vietnamese Government’s policies in restructuring of State-owned enterprises, policy consultancy, resources, finance and technology in economic development.

-- The the famous Duo Maria Pia De Vito and Huw Warren will give Vietnamese audiences an insight into Italian jazz culture at a A jazz concert titled “Dialektos” .The concert will take place at the Labor Theater in Hanoi on December 9 and at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music on December 11.

-- A book on traditional costumes of the Vietnamese ethnic groups has just been released jointly by the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association, Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts University and Information Publishing House. The book aims to present readers the beauty of traditional costumes of the Vietnamese ethnic groups and help highlight and preserve their national culture and fine art heritage.
